Pinnacle Living forms deep relationships with our residents and we make a commitment to provide assistance to those who, through no fault of their own, may
become unable to meet the financial responsibilities of their residence or care. As with many relationships, this one is based on mutual responsibility
– working as partners so we can better assure residents’ plans to call our communities home is right for everyone.
Each Pinnacle Living community is unique and special, reflecting the character of its own location and history, but all are linked
by the shared mission, values and commitment to gracious retirement living and quality services that are the hallmark of our organization.
The Pinnacle Living Samaritan Program provides peace of mind to residents who have outlived their financial resources. We are committed to an established
policy to provide assistance to those who, through no fault of their own, become unable to meet the full cost of our services. This has been
an integral part of who we are since our founding in 1948.

Hermitage in Roanoke started with a tight knit group of local people driven to make their corner of the world a better place. These original trustees
acquired Casselwold, a fine Georgian Mansion and 10 wooded acres near the country club in Roanoke, in 1964. That passionate group merged the
Roanoke community with the burgeoning Pinnacle Living family of communities in 1965. From that strong beginning to today the community has repeatedly
renovated and expanded to build a team, a reputation and a great sense of community in this special part of Roanoke. The story of Hermitage
in Roanoke is made up of the many lives who have called the community home for over 50 years. One family, Charles and Ethel Schepmos, called
Hermitage in Roanoke home during the 70’s and 80s. They loved the community, their neighbors and the team that served them through all their
levels of living. The Schepmos family gave the gift of a trust that continues to support the mission of their beloved community to this day.
